Our cue sheet said that we only had 39 miles to ride today. Our first question was, "what's the catch?". There aren't any mountains to climb, so there has to be some other obstacle in our path. Do we have to carry our bikes, or swim part of the way? Carol assured us that it just happens to be a short distance to our next destination. I believed her until the next morning when we were waiting to leave, and in the distance someone spotted a bolt of lightning. We waited and then came the thunder. I saw the look of concern on Carol's face and started to panic. Were they going to let us ride or insist on sagging us to the next stop. We waited a couple of minutes and didn't see anymore lightning. I asked her if we could go. She said OK, but if we saw more lightning, we were to find shelter and wait it out. If it continued, they would pick us up and bring us in. Sue and I took off. I have ridden every mile so far and didn't want to get sagged so close to the end. We only stopped once at a place around the twelve mile mark because there were supposed to be really good cinnamon rolls there. We thought we could get them to go. Some things just have to be done. Well, there weren't any, and it was starting to sprinkle. We hopped back on our bikes determined to out run the storm. We did. We reached Wakulla Springs at about 10:20am. The major part of the storm is supposed to hit tonight and it's supposed to continue on into tomorrow. Tomorrow is our rest day, so it couldn't have worked out better. We've been extremely lucky with the weather. We've heard reports of a tornado that hit in Mississippi and Louisianna that killed 12 people. Texas is getting hit pretty hard also. We seem to be staying just ahead of everything. We only have four more riding days. I hope our luck holds out. As you've probably quessed, I didn't take any pictures today, so I am posting some random photos that were taken by me and the other ladies that I think you
