We woke up this morning not wanting to leave the island. We had such a relaxing day yesterday and we were reluctant to start the routine again. Once we boarded the ferry at Fort Morgan, our moods begin to change and we were once again looking forward to the adventure ahead. We had a great time talking to the locals on the ferry. They told us a lot about the hurricanes and the oil riggs and the history of the island. We saw dalphins and pelicans and just enjoyed the views. After we got off the ferry, we rode into Gulf Shores and went to LuLu's Restaurant, which is owned by Jimmy Buffets sister and is a hot spot in town. We checked out the gift shop and some of the group decided to have an early lunch there. Sue and I rode on. It was too early to eat seeing as we had just had coffee and biedins at a local shop about 20 minutes earlier. I was anxious to get to Florida. We agreed that we would stop for lunch as soon as we crossed the state line. We connected with the group again at about mile 53 and we all rode in together. We rode a total of 60 miles today and we did so at a leisurely pace. We are staying at The Sole Inn & Suites in Pensacola. It's a very nice place and they hosted a great happy hour. Plus it was margarita night. We celebrated reaching Florida with gusto! It's all downhill from here. (I hope)
